How to Turn On or Off Noise Cancelling on AirPods (5 Simple Steps!)
If you have AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, you can easily enable or disable Noise Cancellation. Here’s how:
Method 1: Using AirPods' Force Sensor (Quickest Way)
- Wear your AirPods Pro and connect them to your iPhone or iPad.
- Press and hold the force sensor (on the stem of either AirPod) until you hear a chime.
- This will toggle between Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode.
- Repeat the step to switch again.
Method 2: Using iPhone Settings
- Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Bluetooth and find your AirPods Pro/AirPods Max in the list.
- Tap the (i) Info button next to your AirPods.
- Under Noise Control, select:
- Noise Cancellation (Blocks external sounds).
- Transparency Mode (Lets outside noise in).
- Off (Disables both features).
- Exit settings, and you're done!
Method 3: Using Control Center (Fastest on iPhone/iPad)
- Swipe down from the top-right of your screen to open Control Center.
- Press and hold the Volume Slider (where you see your AirPods icon).
- Tap Noise Control and choose:
